Project description

As part of Council’s 2023-24 Bride Renewal program, the Alexander Road bridge in Cockatoo was replaced and upgraded.

To improve community safety and access, Council has replaced the bridge structure. 

Council had previously completed maintenance works to keep the bridge operational, however as the timber trusses continue to fail on the existing bridge, a full replacement was required. 

The Alexander Road Bridge is located near Pakenham Road in Cockatoo, and forms part of the pedestrian footpath link from Alexander Road to the township of Cockatoo. 

Funding

The project is funded by Council.  

Progress update

Works were completed in September and October 2023, and are now complete.
