Project description
Army Road is a major collector road, and over a 5 year period, a total of 3 crashes occurred; with all these crashes being caused by drivers being run off the road on a curve.
As part of the Australian Government’s 2024-25 Black Spot program, Army Road and Army Settlement Road, Pakenham will be upgraded.
The proposed treatments will address the runoff road crashes occurring on the outside of the curve.
Works will include:
- the installation of safety barriers
- motorcycle rub-rail protection
- rail on the outside of the curve with delineation improvements.
Funding
Works are fully funded by the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program.
Progress update
Council welcomed the announcement of funding from the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program in August 2024.
Works are expected to start in February 2025 and be completed before June 2025, conditions permitting.
