Council have upgraded the pedestrian crossing on Kilvington Drive, Emerald to a flashing zebra crossing.
Project description
Works included:
- A new raised asphalt pedestrian crossing.
- Installation of flashing amber pedestrian lights
- Upgraded drainage work and pedestrian fence
- Line marking
- Additional safety signage
- Tactile crossing installation
- Additional Lighting
- Landscaping work including garden bed preparation and planting shrubs
The works were undertaken to improve the safety of pedestrians and drivers accessing nearby businesses in Emerald.
Funding
This project is funded through Council’s capital works program and footpath network expansion program.

This project has now been completed.
Construction
Project Highlights
- The permanent power connection was completed in October 2024.
- Construction was completed in June 2024 and the crossing was accessible for pedestrians with temporary power connection to the upgraded lights.
