Stoney Creek package | Beaconsfield Upper
Sealing the Hills is a vital infrastructure program which aims to upgrade currently unsealed roads in the Dandenong Ranges and surrounding townships.
Unsealed roads are heavily impacted by weather conditions, land formations and increased traffic, particularly in the Dandenong Ranges.
Upgrading these unsealed roads will improve community safety, access to community facilities and amenities and the connectivity of the existing road network, while reducing dust, pollution and maintenance issues.
Project description
Council is working to seal Burton Road, Morris Road and Young Street, Beaconsfield Upper as part of the Stoney Creek package under the Sealing the Hills program.
Works include:
- feature pavement construction
- kerb channel construction
- drainage improvement works
- signage
- line-marking
Funding
This project is jointly funded by the Australian Government and contributions by residents via a Special Charge Scheme.
Progress update
Upgrade sealing works is underway on Burton Road, Morris Road and Young Street, Beaconsfield Upper, construction is expected to be completed by end of 2025.
Sure Constructions have been appointed as the contractor for this project.
Minor rectification works
As part of finalising all works completed as part of the Sealing the Hills program, minor rectification works are scheduled to be completed from 11 May to July 2026 conditions permitting,
Works will vary, and may include:
- Drainage improvements
- Signage improvements
- Minor roadside works
What to expect
During construction, temporary disruptions may include:
- Increased noise, dust and lighting
- Increased traffic on surrounding streets
- Traffic management including reduced speed limit will be in place.
Access will be maintained to all properties during construction, and we will be working to minimise disruptions where possible.
Project Highlights
- Works are on track and construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, conditions permitting
- Minor rectification works are underway and are expected to be completed by July 2026, conditions permitting.
