Project description
Council has completed underground drainage works along Ambrose Street in Emerald.
Stormwater drainage along Ambrose Street was previously reconfigured by a developer as part of their subdivision works. Following the works, several flooding and access issues have been reported by affected residents.
Council considered in detail the issues raised and undertaken an assessment of the adequacy of the existing drainage assets.
Council developed a plan to address these issues through the installation of a new underground drainage as well as works to reshape the existing road base to minimise the risk of spillover to low properties along the road.
The design adopted a water sensitive design approach to underground drainage inlets and a suitable road width was provided to align with any possible future special charge scheme to seal the road.
Funding
All works were fully funded by Cardinia Shire Council.
