The Princes Highway Intersections project will transform local roads to cope with future growth and to improve travel for generations to come. 

 

This key infrastructure project will provide safer travel for all road users, while improving connectivity and access along this vital growth corridor. These intersection upgrades are expected to reduce congestion and improve travel time reliability along this corridor.

Project description

Arena Parade, Officer will be upgraded as part of Council’s Princes Highway intersection program.

Works may include:

  • Upgrading the existing intersection to be fully signalised
  • additional lanes
  • drainage
  • pedestrian and cyclist facilities.

 

Funding

Designs for the intersections are funded through developer contributions. 

The Victorian Government has announced $2.8m through the Growth Areas Infrastructure Contributions fund to deliver the Arena Parade intersection. Council will also contribute to this project via Developer Contributions. 

 

Progress update

Detailed designs are now underway.

Arena Parade designs have been submitted to Department of Transport and Planning for detailed design approval.  

Arena Parade has now received Victorian Government funding allowing the project to proceed.
