Project description

As part of the Strategic Sealed Roads program, Council is upgrading Hobsons Road in Rythdale.

Hobsons Road will be sealed from Ballarto Road to Soldiers Road.

Works will also include:

• Road pavement construction
• Kerb and channel construction (as needed)
• Drainage works
• Signage, guardrails and line markings

Works are already complete on McGregor Road and Soldiers Road, however the completion of works on Hobsons Road has been delayed due issues with the desalination pipeline area.

Funding

Council has invested $25 million into the Strategic Sealed Roads Project. We’re proposing to seal about 40 kilometres of local unsealed roads in 7 locations across the shire.

Progress update

To ensure community safety, Council is completing emergency repair works to the length of Hobsons Road. 

On 30 July, Hobsons Rd will be temporarily closed for repair works from 7am. Access will be maintained for local traffic and emergency services. 

Delays are expected and detours can be accessed via Greenhills Rd, Soldiers Rd and Healesville Koo Wee Rup Rd.
