The Upper Beaconsfield BMX track is regularly used and enjoyed by locals and young people. Improving the current track will encourage increased participation, use and overall enjoyment of bike riding by the locals and surrounding townships.
Project description
The existing BMX track at Upper Beaconsfield Recreation Reserve is being redeveloped.
The upgraded BMX track will include:
• two key starting platforms accessed from the carpark
• asphalt pump track and upgrade of the existing dirt track
• resting and viewing platforms
• jumps and features suitable for all ages and skill levels.
Following the completion of two rounds of community consultation on the proposed design for upgrades to the BMX track, we are now ready to start construction. Thanks to everyone who participated in the consultation process.
The final design is based on feedback received during the community consultation process which involved an online survey, pop-up workshops at the BMX track, engagement with the local Primary School, the reserve Committee of Management, and the landowner Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP).
