Cardinia Shire Council has upgraded the southern tennis courts at Cockatoo Tennis Club.

The upgrades involved reconstructing the two existing southern tennis courts at Alma Treloar Reserve, 73 Healesville – Koo Wee Rup Rd, Cockatoo.

The upgrade included the demolition of the existing facility and replacement of two new sporting-standard synthetic tennis courts and supporting infrastructure.

Project description

Situated in Alma Treloar Reserve in Cockatoo, the southern tennis courts now feature:

  • two new safer, synthetic grass court surfaces,
  • new 350 LUX LED lights, which will allow users to play tennis after dark,
  • new fencing and wider entry points to make the courts more accessible to all.

Funding

Cardinia Shire Council contributed more than $370,000 to the project, with the Victorian Government providing $250,000 through the 2021-22 Local Sports Facilities Fund – Community Facilities.
