The Princes Highway Intersections project will transform local roads to cope with future growth and to improve travel for generations to come.

This key infrastructure project will provide safer travel for all road users, while improving connectivity and access along this vital growth corridor. These intersection upgrades are expected to reduce congestion and improve travel time reliability along this corridor.

Disruptions & closures
  • To ensure public safety, the median crossing will remain closed for the duration of works. Drivers will be unable to turn right in or right out of Bayview Rd.
  • Southern connection to Pioneer Way will be opened once the traffic signals are turned on in June 2024.
  • Traffic management will be in place and delays are expected in the area.

Please obey all signs and instructions from traffic management staff, to keep all drivers, pedestrians, and contractors safe.

The Princes Highway intersection works were scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023, but unfortunately, due to factors outside of Council’s control such as poor weather and workforce shortages, delays have occurred on both the Bayview and Tivendale projects.

We have been working to keep businesses and the wider community informed by providing regular updates regarding disruptions and upcoming works. These updates have been delivered in-person and via printed materials and the Building a Better Cardinia website.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience and frustration that the ongoing roadworks have caused and thank the community for their patience.
