Project description

• A new regional athletics facility is being built at IYU Recreation reserve in Pakenham.Stage one of the project will include:
• 400m running track with a 10 lane straight
• Facilities for:
  • long/triple jump
  • pole vault
  • high jump
  • javelin
  • shot put
  • hammer/discus
  • steeplechase

Stage 2 of the project will include a sports pavilion with a proposed design currently underway.

IYU Recreation Reserve is Cardinia Shire’s premier soccer facility and one of the best soccer venues in Melbourne’s south-east.

Previous works there included the construction of a full-sized senior soccer field, a pavilion, an all-weather synthetic soccer pitch, a playground and a basketball half-court.

Funding

This project is fully funded by Council.

The running track has been completed and is now open to the public.
